Song lyrics

Garbage Trucks Are on the Move

by Lauri Myllymäki

garbage trucks are on the move
like damned bringers of dawn clattering and rattling
they are welcoming the day
the day that wasn’t supposed to come at all

melon-headed little boys hand in hand
with their grumpy moms
filling the street with mindless noise
welcoming the day
the day that wasn’t supposed to come at all

what’s left for us this morning
it’s the same world as yesterday
yet everything has changed
but the people just cannot tell
what’s left for us this morning
is a thousand blank tomorrows
just some moving boxes ugly words
words such as garbage trucks

shrieking sounds insulting birds
a light that hurts the eye
garbage trucks like doctors
going on from door to door

this down-and-out of mine
is just too down to romanticize
and when you’ve lost your faith in words
there ain’t no truth or lies
on the day that wasn’t supposed to come at all

Blues #6

by Lauri Myllymäki

blue devil in my shoes
walking down the road to my doom
blue devil took my hand
made me grab the wrong tools I assume

and you were just a dream
a song to be sung in the night
a light that showed the way
the light that showed the way
to my gloom

blue devil in my coat
pushing me to the edges of things
blue devil took my hand
made me grab the wrong tools I assume
